The Citizens Utility Board (CUB),
Illinois’ premier consumer watchdog group, is partnering with Cool
Cities to create an energy-saving team using CUB’s FREE online service called
Elmhurst Energy Saver. Here’s what you need to know:CUBEESScreenshot

  • It’s FREE, and helps you build a customized energy-saving plan that can help you cut your electric bill by hundreds of dollars a year.
  • It’s designed for homes on modest budgets. It gives you simple, money-saving recommendations like unplugging the coffee maker when you’re done brewing and cleaning the lint trap on your clothes dryer.
  • It connects to your ComEd account to track actual electricity savings and reward you for reducing energy waste. You earn points that can be redeemed for restaurant and gift cards at popular retailers, such as Target and Amazon.

Elmhurst Energy Saverteam members get results. So far, more than 100 Elmhurst residents have used it to cut their electricity waste by more than 220,800 kilowatt-hours (kWh). That’s the equivalent of 335,767 pounds of carbon dioxide pollution — like taking 32 cars off the road for a year. Plus, residents have cut their power bills by a total of $17,447, thanks to CUB.

Please join Elmhurst’s FREE energy-saving team, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same. It’s simple to sign up. Just get your electric bill and go to the special Elmhurst Energy Saver team page: https://www.cubenergysaver.com/teams/ees.
