Elmhurst residents have two opportunities to go solar in 2020: Solarize Chicagoland or Community Solar.
Rooftop Solar through Solarize Chicagoland

Back by popular demand, Elmhurst residents once again have an opportunity to participate in Solarize Chicagoland. This grassroots program combines volume purchasing to make rooftop solar more accessible and affordable. Home and commercial property owners may participate in this program.
Ten Elmhurst homeowners installed solar through the 2019 Solarize Chicagoland program. Once again for 2020, the more people who go solar, the lower the price for all.
If you were unable to make our Solar Power Hour webinar on Tues., May 26, watch the videotaped meeting (start at the 7:15 mark to view the presentation). Learn more about solar basics and solar financial implications for your household. If you’d like to continue the process, you can then sign up for a free, no obligation site assessment.
Also watch for updates on SolarizeChicagoland.com and find additional Power Hour events.
Community Solar through Solar Farm Subscription

If you can’t put solar panels on your own home but want to support new, renewable energy in Illinois with no upfront investment, you can now save money by becoming a Community Solar subscriber.
Solar farms create an opportunity for subscribers to save on their energy supply rate, while the program creates local jobs to build and maintain every farm, year-round.
If you missed our June 4 presentation on Community Solar for Elmhurst & Beyond, watch a videotaped explanation of the program. Learn program details, savings benefits, contract terms, how to sign up and more. Click here for full program details.
