The 2023 Illinois Solar Tour showcases solar homes and businesses around the state … with FIVE ELMHURST HOMES on this year’s tour. Learn how these local homeowners are using clean energy to become more energy independent.

Three Elmhurst homes on the in-person tour, plus two others on the virtual tour; many more in DuPage County
NEW THIS YEAR: Participants can tour Elmhurst homes through an Elmhurst Bicycle Club-led bike ride!
Visit any site at any time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Homeowners will be available at each in-person site to provide information, share experiences and answer questions.
1. Learn how home and business owners are utilizing solar and other clean energies to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels and to become energy independent;
2. Meet residents who have renewable energy installations, learn why they did it, the process, what they love about it and lessons learned;
3. Learn about the different clean, green technologies and see how they are used and installed;
4. Learn how different renewable energy technologies work together, directly from each of the homeowners;
5. Find out all of the ways you can use clean energy to power your life;
6. Get inspired to do your part in saving the planet from climate change while saving money at the same time.
