Coalition Members
Elmhurst Cool Cities Coalition membership consists of citizens, businesses, non-profit organizations, congregations/clergy, government and schools working together to reduce carbon emissions.

Background
The City of Elmhurst, along with more than 900 other cities around the country, CoolCarsEcoCars July2012 loressigned the U.S. Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement. This agreement was a pledge by mayors to reduce global warming pollution in their cities by 7% below 1990 levels by the year 2012.

Elmhurst’s Cool Cities Coalition works closely with the Illinois Cool Cities and Cool Counties organizations. Both are volunteer-led efforts helping communities and their public officials set goals and find local solutions to climate disruption by cutting greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO2).

Getting Involved
We welcome new organizations, business leaders and citizens to join the coalition. Share your ideas, as well as learn more about how you can help make the Elmhurst community a more environmentally-friendly and sustainable place to live.
