  • Climate Change and What You Can Do About It co-hosted with the Elmhurst Public Library
  • Third year participating in One Earth Film Festival with premiere of Time to Choose
  • Third year participating in First Congregational UCC’s Green Garden Faire
  • Second annual field trip to Bob’s Fresh and Local CSA Farm
  • Co-sponsored Children’s Monarch Fest with Elmhurst Garden Club
  • Earth Day education table at Elmhurst Academy
  • Interactive lawn care event with MPAC

Other Initiatives

  • Participated in People’s Climate March
  • Advocated with the City of Elmhurst for bringing curbside food scrap collection to Elmhurst
  • Successfully requested a new City of Elmhurst representative for ECCC
  • Attended and provided public comment at Elmhurst Park District’s board meeting on one year anniversary of Van Voorst pesticide-free trial
  • Attended the Elmhurst Park District’s sports user group meeting with MPAC
  • Attended an Elmhurst Park District focus group meeting for their draft strategic plan
  • Included sustainability question in League of Women Voters Candidates’ Forum
  • Presented to Elmhurst Lion’s Club
  • Recruited attendees for MPAC Midwest Grows Green webinars
  • Began surveying residents on multi-unit residential building recycling
  • Created “Calls to Action” on pesticide-free parks, curbside food scrap collection, banning coal tar sealants, Scott Pruitt nomination, Dakota Pipeline
  • Continued accumulating pesticide-free pledges from residents
  • Attended Go Green Illinois meeting
  • Participated Sustain DuPage meeting
